A good eye' is crucial for art historians in the art trade, museum world, and also in academic circles. The call for scientifically trained art historians with great visual knowledge has only increased in recent years, partly because the number of forgeries is increasing. This specialization within the Master of Arts and Culture Sciences at the VU offers you the opportunity to train your eyes and to underpin judgment with academic knowledge. The study program combines a historical perspective on art (trade) with specialist depth in the profession.
A Bachelor s degree from an accredited research university including at least three full years of academic study amounting to a minimum of 180 EC or equivalent, Curriculum Vitae, 2 Letters of recommendation, Letter of Motivation, Diploma(s), Transcript of records, IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL internet-based test: 92, Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): grade A, B or C, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): grade A, B or C, State Examination Dutch as a second language, programme II (NT2-II), VU-NT2 Department, CNaVT Certificate.
