Program Overview

This masters programme is provided as a response to the development of medical assistance services in line with a growing population with a higher life expectancy. As the population is getting older it is also having a pathology dominated by chronical illnesses that can dramatically affect the quality of life. The increase in cancer rates and a high death rate is another argument for the development of this medical field. In the past years there have been legislative changes that have included palliative care in hospitals and since 2010 palliative care for outpatients -- The law of the patients' rights and the Frame contract of 2007.
