Masters in Experimental Philosophy and Neuroscience

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University

Program Overview

The training program is aimed at training specialists who can both theoretically comprehend the latest achievements of biological science and develop experiments for empirical testing of philosophical theories. Philosophers have been trying for centuries to understand how thinking and the accompanying physical processes are connected. For hundreds of years, a lot of fundamentally different theories have accumulated, which the previous state of science did not allow to confirm or refute. But today, neuroscience provides unique opportunities to test the theories put forward by philosophers by empirical methods: for example, to try to see where the "moral law in me" is localized and how its physical correlate works. Undergraduates of the IKBFU I. Kant will be among the first in Russia to be able to engage in experimental philosophy
