1 Years On Campus Masters Program
The Master’s Degree in Space Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de València is a 1.5-year, 90-ECTS, on-campus official master’s degree taught entirely in English. It provides multidisciplinary training for the space sector, integrating aerospace, telecommunications and computer engineering with a focus on spacecraft, space systems, communications and software.
Curriculum Structure:
Year 1: Students develop advanced knowledge in space systems, spacecraft design, orbital and attitude dynamics, communications, data handling, avionics, software, structures, materials, propulsion and related engineering areas, supported by compulsory and elective study.
Year 2: Students complete the remaining specialised coursework and a 12-ECTS Master’s Thesis, applying their knowledge to an individual multidisciplinary space-engineering project.
Focus Areas: Spacecraft Design, Space Systems, Orbital Mechanics, Attitude Control, Space Communications, Avionics, Space Software, Space Structures, Materials, Propulsion, Power Systems, Thermal Control and Data Processing.
Learning Outcomes: Graduates develop the ability to understand, design and apply spacecraft and space systems, analyse orbital mechanics, work with guidance and control, communications, thermal and power systems, and address complex engineering challenges in the space sector.
Professional Alignment (Accreditation): The programme provides multidisciplinary professional training for the space sector but does not qualify graduates to practise a regulated profession. It is designed around competencies from aerospace, telecommunications and computer systems engineering.
Reputation (Employability): The programme combines international English-language education with engineering and research projects, specialised facilities and opportunities for industry placements. It prepares graduates for roles across both the flight and ground segments of the space sector.
