Taiwan University has a long and excellent history in neuroscience research. In the 1960s, the two pharmacologists of the medical school, Li Zhenyuan and Zhang Chuanqi, discovered -bungarotoxin in snake venom, which was an important milestone in neurobiology research. Later, many neuroscience research scholars joined the National Taiwan University. Unfortunately, the resources were scattered among the various departments in the school, and the integration work was not effective. In view of the cross-domain characteristics of neuroscience and cognitive science research, well-known universities at home and abroad have successively established integrated units such as neuroscience research centers and neurocognitive science courses.
