Trauma and Disaster Studies Applied Mental Health

Mental trauma, unfortunately, is a common public health problem affecting women, men, children and families. Almost one fifth of the world's population is known to have experienced at least one natural disaster throughout their lives, almost half of all women around the world have experienced physical violence, at least one-quarter are exposed to sexual violence. From the victims of traffic accidents to suicide bombers, to immigrants, the modern world is creating new and widespread traumas in many different ways.
