Program Overview

The Master of Arts programme in English Language Teaching (ELT) is designed to provide students with the opportunity of acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical experience in ELT in the light of innovative approaches and methods. This is a two-year programme consisting of 8 courses of 24 credits spread over two semesters, followed by an M.A. thesis. The M.A. programme is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Graduate School of Institute of Educational Sciences.

Additional Information & Requirements

Bachelor of Arts degree in either English Language Teaching, English Language and Literature, American Culture and Literature, Linguistics and English Translation and Interpretation. In addition, those with a B. A. degree in any disciplines may also be eligible for admission to the program under certain circumstances listed as in the followings: a score of 55(at least) from verbal quantity part in the Entrance Examinations of Academic Personnel and Graduate Education. a grade point average of 2.50 (at least)in Undergraduate Programme: for the ones who have language certificates: TOEFL (IBT): 75 and above, TOEFL (CBT): 185 and above, TOEFL (PBT): 490 and above, YDS: 80 and above. For the ones who do not have one of the listed language certificates above: A score of 80 (at least) from Ba kent University English Proficiency Exam is required. Successfully Completed 120 ECTS in the curriculum and have obtained cumulative grade avarage of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.
