Program Overview

The main aim of the program is to relate the modern linguistics methods and approaches to the studies carried out in our country, and to emphasize the importance of having a scientific viewpoint towards the studies in Turkish and in English. Another aim of the program is to contribute to the first and second language acquisition studies by having theoretical and applied studies. The medium of the MA and PhD programs has been English since 1970/71 academic year, and new courses and programs are added in accordance with the scientific developments and social requirements.

"Bachelor's Degree in any science or humanities field, The cumulative GPA is to be a minimum score of 2.5 or its equivalent out of a scale of 4.00, A minimum of 70 points in ALES, administered by SYM, or an equivalent score of 70 points in internationally accepted exams such as GRE or GMAT, which are also subject to Hacettepe University Senate equivalence standards, Minimum of 85 in English in YDS or internationally valid scores, which are subject to SYM equivalence standards, International students' applications are accepted in line within Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation"" in Official Gazette, TOMER certificate (70pts and over) for foreigners-The bank document of payment, High School Certificates /Diplomas-a GCE A Level: Provided that the average grade is C in minimum; at least 3 A-Level; or 2 A-Level and 1 AS-Level scores from relevant subjects, International Baccalaureate-A minimum score of 33, with one of the subjects being relevant to the program applied, French Baccalaureate-A minimum score of 14 in the stream relevant to the program applied, ABITUR -A maximum score of 2, one of the subjects being relevant to the program applied, Pishdanesgahi-A minimum score of 18, Foreign Language Points: TOEFL(IBT) 163 (Comp.based), TOEFL(CBT) 68 (Internet based), IELTS-5, CPE-C, UDS-60, KPDS-60, YDS-60"
