Program Overview

"Today's function of toxicology can be described by the definition of ""Interactions between chemicals and biological system are science that does not harm the harmful results"" or ""Science that determines the limits of harmlessness of chemicals"". However, considering the lower branches such as descriptive toxicology, clinical toxicology, environmental toxicology, industrial toxicology, forensic toxicology, analytical toxicology and ecotoxicology, toxicology should be defined separately for each branch function. The fact that each chemical can exhibit toxic effects on the basis of toxicity extends to a wide range of fields of medicine, cosmetics, pesticides, food additives, household cleaning materials and industrial chemicals. With the rapid development of the chemical industry in the 20th century, more than 70,000 chemical substances, mostly synthetic, are being used for various purposes. The importance of toxicology as a scientific discipline that determines the limits of harmfulness of pre- and post-production of chemicals has increased the necessity of using them in increasing quantities while continuing the modern life from the hazards created by the chemicals on the one hand."
