"In Turkey, Religious Education as a scientific discipline, has been quite late in comparison to Western countries. The scientific studies directly related to the field of religious education began with Beyza Bilgin. In 1965-66 Bilgin started to work as a research asistant in department of RE and finished her PhD with the titile of ""Love as an essential of education in Islam"" in 1971. This study was the first academic product in RE.RE Department in Ankara University Divinity Faculty started its activities in 13.05.1980. "
