The Leeds School of Arts Building features a plethora of audio systems and acoustic environments to experience and discuss. State-of-the-art acoustics facilities will enable you to put key measurement standards and guidance into practice in professional-level environments. The delivery of this course in a busy city centre environment will allow plenty of opportunity to get out of the classroom and to experience and make measurements of real-world noise problems. The role of acoustics in the built environment and the impact of sound and noise on society is a growing area of research and practice.
Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in the cognate subjects of Music Technology, Audio Engineering or Audio Technology, at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. IELTS 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each skill.
