FinTech is a rapidly evolving field that has revolutionised traditional banking and its influence across the wider economy is only expected to grow. Our MSc Financial Technology programme will equip you with in-demand quantitative and analytical skills, knowledge of the financial sector and practical experience, preparing you for a FinTech-oriented career in the financial services sector. Previous MSc Financial Technology students have secured roles in major companies and financial institutions such as Barclays, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and more.The programme syllabus will enable you to understand, execute and possibly develop disruptive financial innovations using appropriate tools and techniques. You will be able to demonstrate analytical skills to create, manage and interrogate large data sets applicable to the finance sector and build up a critical awareness of current issues in the FinTech landscape. A range of programming tools will facilitate live implementations of financial models and allow you to analyse and evaluate investment decisions and data.
A First or Upper Second Class Honours undergraduate degree from a recognised university or the international equivalent in a highly quantitative discipline such as: Computer Science , Economics , Engineering , Finance , Mathematics , Science. Students commencing the programme are expected to be proficient in probability, calculus, matrix algebra and real analysis. IELTS Academic overall score of 7.0 with no less than 6.5 in each component. GMAT is not required for MSc Financial Technology but a well balanced GMAT Exam result with a score of 650+, or GMAT Focus Edition result of 75% or higher will add weight to your application.If you are taking the GRE, a score of 159 in the quantitative section can also add weight to your application. GMAT or GRE is highly recommended for candidates with less quantitative degree backgrounds.
