1 Year On Campus Masters Program
The MSc International Human Resource Management & Development at the University of Glasgow is a CIPD-accredited program designed to advance your career in HRM or HRD. Curriculum Structure
Year 1 (Full-time, 12 months)
In the first semester, you’ll develop a strong foundation in HRM and HRD through courses such as Human Resource Development and Human Resource Management in Context: Understanding Organisations and External Environments. These modules help you understand how HR functions within complex organizational systems and prepare you to address external challenges.
Moving into the second semester, the focus shifts to international perspectives and leadership. You’ll study Managing and Leading People in International Contexts and International Perspectives on Employment Relations, which explore how HR practices vary across cultures and economies. Alongside this, Managing Diversity and Inclusion equips you to design equitable workplace strategies that align with global standards.
Throughout the year, you’ll also take Developing Skills for Business Leadership and Research Skills for Managers, ensuring you graduate with both practical leadership abilities and the capacity to conduct organizational research. Optional courses such as Managing Careers in the 21st Century or Coaching in Organisations allow you to tailor your learning to your career interests.
Finally, you’ll complete a dissertation on a real-world HRM/HRD issue, applying research-informed solutions to workplace challenges.
