Program Overview

The MSc International Business Management at Royal Holloway is a one‑year master’s designed to give you the skills and confidence to work in global business. It’s perfect for ambitious graduates — even if your background isn’t in business — who want to understand how companies operate internationally and make a real impact across marketing, finance, operations, or HR.

Curriculum structure

Throughout the year, you’ll dive into a mix of core modules that cover all aspects of international business. You’ll start by exploring economics, finance and accounting, learning how businesses make decisions, manage resources, and interpret financial information in global contexts.

Next, in Strategy and Ethics in International Business Management, you’ll explore how companies build long‑term success and navigate challenges around sustainability, innovation, and global competition.

The People & Organisation module helps you understand how to manage teams and employees across cultures, while Digital Business and Marketing gives you insight into how global firms use technology and marketing strategies to stay competitive.

In Operations Management, you’ll see how companies plan, design, and run their operations efficiently worldwide. Meanwhile, the Professional Business & Research Skills module equips you with the practical skills to tackle real-world business challenges and succeed in your career.

You’ll also choose an optional module: either a hands-on Independent Business Research Project, where you apply what you’ve learned to real business problems, or an International Business Study Field Trip, giving you firsthand experience of how international companies operate.
