Queen Margaret University

Program Overview

The MSc International Marketing at QMU equips you with the skills and confidence to succeed in global marketing, from understanding consumer behaviour to designing effective digital campaigns. It’s ideal for students from any background who want a practical, career-focused education that prepares them for international marketing roles.

Curriculum Structure

This programme blends theory with hands-on learning, giving you the knowledge and skills to tackle real-world marketing challenges.

Foundational Phase

You’ll start with Contemporary Issues in Business & Society, which helps you adapt to postgraduate study while connecting business concepts to current global trends and sustainability challenges. Alongside this, International Marketing introduces you to the world of marketing across borders, teaching you how to navigate different cultures and markets effectively.

Core Marketing and Digital Skills

Next, modules like Digital Communications give you practical experience with social media, SEO, web analytics, content marketing, and ethical considerations in digital marketing. Consumer Behaviour & Global Branding shows you why people buy what they buy and how to build strong brands that resonate across different cultures and markets.

Strategy, Innovation, Data & Campaign Management

As you progress, you’ll take Data Analytics for Management Decision-Making, Marketing Innovation & Campaign Management, and Strategic Management, helping you turn insights into actionable marketing strategies, launch new products or services, and approach challenges with a strategic mindset.

Capstone: Real-World Project, Consultancy or Dissertation

In the final stage, you choose a capstone option: a Dissertation, a Business Consultancy in Practice project with a real client, or a Business Incubation pathway if you’re interested in entrepreneurship. This lets you apply everything you’ve learned and create a portfolio of work that aligns with your career goals.
