MSc Human Centred Artificial Intelligence

Program Overview:
The MSc Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence at Bournemouth University teaches students to design AI systems that are technically strong, ethically responsible and aligned with human needs. It suits graduates from any discipline who want to enter AI or data science with a focus on usability, ethics, transparency and human–computer interaction.

Curriculum structure

Students begin with Applied Programming for Data Science, Data Storytelling, Human-Computer Interaction, and Data Processing and Analytics, developing core skills in programming, data handling, visualisation and user-centred interface design. They then progress to Explainable and Ethical Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Skills and Professional Issues, where they learn how to design transparent AI systems, assess ethical and legal implications, and understand industry expectations. The programme concludes with an Individual Master’s Project, where students build a full human-centred AI solution or conduct applied research in AI ethics, data analytics or user–AI interaction.
