They then progress to Use of Intelligence in Reactive and Proactive Investigation and Evidence Based Practice, developing an understanding of how intelligence supports real investigations, from day-to-day crime response to long-term prevention strategies. Optional modules such as Cyber Crime – Detection, Investigation and Enforcement, Business Intelligence, or Machine Learning and Big Data allow students to specialise in cyber-threats, organisational analytics or advanced data science. The year concludes with Advanced Research Skills and a Dissertation, enabling students to design and execute a substantial research or applied project in criminal intelligence or data analysis.
