MSc Robotics & AI

1 Year On Campus Masters Program

University of Glasgow

Program Overview

The MSc Robotics & Artificial Intelligence is a one-year full-time programme that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the technologies underpinning robotic and intelligent systems. It is designed for individuals with a background in engineering, computing, or related fields who aspire to develop expertise in robotics, AI, and machine learning.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1:
Students begin with foundational modules such as Artificial Intelligence (COMPSCI5087), which introduces intelligent agent design and machine learning techniques. The Robotics (ENG5326) module focuses on the application of machine learning to engineering problems, while the Robotics Team Design Project (ENG5325) offers practical experience in team-based robotic system design. These courses provide a solid grounding in both theoretical and practical aspects of robotics and AI.

Summer Term:
The programme culminates in an individual project, allowing students to apply their acquired knowledge to a real-world problem in robotics or AI. This project fosters independent research skills and the ability to integrate various concepts learned throughout the course.

Focus areas: “Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Systems, Autonomous Systems”

Learning outcomes: “Develop proficiency in designing and implementing intelligent agents; apply machine learning techniques to engineering problems; gain hands-on experience in robotics system design; conduct independent research in robotics and AI.”

Professional alignment (accreditation): The programme is delivered by the Schools of Engineering and Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, ensuring a strong foundation in both hardware and software aspects of robotics and AI.

Reputation (employability rankings): The University of Glasgow is consistently ranked among the top universities globally, with its engineering and computing programmes recognized for their excellence and producing graduates who are highly sought after in the robotics and AI industries.
