Program Overview

This 2-year MSc (with placement option) gives graduates advanced computing skills including in algorithms, AI, networks, and security, plus real-world work experience. It suits those who want both specialist technical depth and practical exposure to industry. 


Curriculum Structure:

Year 1 (Taught Modules):
You study core and optional modules such as Computational Algorithms and Paradigms, Responsible Technology, Programming for Software Engineers, Neural Networks & Machine Learning, Theory & Practice of Artificial Intelligence. These develop strong foundations in algorithmic thinking, AI techniques, software engineering practice and ethical/technical impact. 

Year 2 (Placement + Project):
After completing required taught modules and Preparation for Placement, you do a one-year industrial placement working in a professional environment. Then you carry out the Advanced Computer Science Masters Project (60 credits), applying your selected specialist learning to a substantial real-world or research problem.
