Students enrolling in this program will explore various aspects of theory, policy, and practical applications relevant to both international and local contexts. With its global focus, the program brings together individuals who possess extensive professional experience in working with children and young people facing learning difficulties, disabilities, disadvantages, or other additional needs. This experience may be in the areas of teaching, support, project work, policy-making, advisory roles, or management positions.
The MA program integrates different disciplinary perspectives and approaches to theory and practice within the field of inclusion, special educational needs (SEN), and disability. However, it is grounded in principles rooted in rights, justice, and equality. The program explicitly rejects deficit-based approaches to addressing differences, including the medical model of disability.
