This programme has an emphasis on the consideration of fire risk in the design and protection of infrastructure, while still covering the majority of the traditional civil and structural engineering topics. In particular this allows engineers to determine the effects of modern construction methods and materials on the safety of buildings and infrastructure. You will take specific courses related to structural and fire safety engineering from Year 3 of the programme onwards.
