Program Overview

The MA in Creative Writing is a one year full time course (with a two year part time study option) delivered via an innovative blend of residential workshops, writing retreats, and distance learning allowing students to engage in experiential learning but also to work flexibly around the residential elements on their own writing projects. Within three tutor-led workshop/residential blocks, students will have an opportunity to work within a range of genres - including poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction - with a particular, though not exclusive, focus on themes relating to writing place, and will also explore a range of critical debates such as the role of art in addressing contemporary environmental concerns.
