A strength and conditioning (S&C) Master's degree equips students with advanced knowledge and skills in designing, implementing, and evaluating fitness programs for athletes. Students who enrol in this programme are usually already working as coaches or trainers, but want to advance their careers by obtaining a higher level of education. The curriculum focuses on the science behind exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition and sports psychology.This course will allow you the opportunity to develop key competencies in strength & conditioning coaching, and challenge you to develop your theoretical knowledge, applied experiences and research skills towards becoming an evidence-based S&C practitioner.
A degree classification of 2:2 or above in a related subject area. Any degree subject area and 12 – 24 months of supervisory work experience in a related sport setting, demonstrating knowledge of the subject matter you are interested in pursuing. Or 3 – 5 five years of relevant managerial work experience, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the sector for the subject matter you are interested in pursuing. All work experience-based applicants will be required to provide a reference detailing your role(s) and responsibilities from your line manager this would be requested after you have successfully applied.
