The War: History and Politics MA is an interdisciplinary programme that focuses on modern history. It brings together current scholar debates from a range of specialist areas, exploring the causes, experience, effects, and memory of all important wars and conflicts of the last hundred years.
Typically, a first-class or upper second-class honours degree (2:1) in a relevant subject is the usual requirement. However, candidates who have obtained a lower second-class honours degree (2:2) or below, or those without a degree, may still be considered for admission if they can provide evidence of relevant professional experience or substantial knowledge in the subject area.
As part of the application process, it is customary for applicants to undergo an interview. This is conducted to evaluate their potential to pursue a master's level of study.
Regarding English language proficiency, an overall IELTS score of 7.0 is required, with a minimum score of 6.5 in the writing component.
