The MA Theology and Religious Studies program recognizes this importance and offers a unique approach that combines focused study of specific traditions with a broad understanding of the subject area. This program stands out in London as it provides specialized instruction in Islam, Indian Religions, Judaism, and various aspects of Christian theology.
Throughout this course, you will explore different religious traditions in relation to key topics such as social justice, gender, textual interpretation, and inter-religious dialogue and conflict. The program offers the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of specific religious themes while maintaining a broad perspective on religious studies and its diverse forms of interpretation and practice. This course is well-suited for students who seek to cultivate advanced skills in the analysis and study of a range of issues, rather than focusing solely on one specialized subject.
Typically, applicants are expected to possess at least a second-class honours degree (although certain programs may require a 2:1) from a recognized university in the UK or abroad. For guidance on degree recognition, prospective students can seek advice from the Admissions Office. Individuals without a degree but with relevant professional qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Program Conveners, whose contact information can be found on the program's respective page. Applicants are required to apply and enroll for the full master's degree. Even those with a third-class honours degree are encouraged to submit an application, as we take into consideration the broader circumstances of each applicant when making our decision. 6.5 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.
