However, there are two identified entry routes for this course: Route 1: Direct entry. Prospective applicants are typically expected to have: A recent first-class or upper second-class honours degree, or an equivalent qualification (for graduates from non-UK institutions). Applications for this course will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis, and offers will be made based on the application date. It is advisable to apply as early as possible since there is no specific deadline. Route 2: Entry via pre-entry module - Research Methods. They recognize that applicants bring valuable academic and experiential learning to their application, and sometimes applicants may not meet the above requirements. Therefore, a second entry route to the course is available, which may involve completing the pre-entry module, for applicants who: Have not studied within the last five years. Hold a lower second-class or third-class honours degree, or an equivalent qualification. Hold an unclassified degree with relevant work experience. Require additional knowledge of the research process and research methods. The pre-entry module, as an alternative entry route, is an online honours-level module that students can undertake at an additional cost. For applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements, successful completion of the pre-entry module may be considered as part of an offer for a place on the course. English language requirement: An IELTS score of 7.0 (or an equivalent qualification) is required, with no individual element scoring below 6.5.
