The MSc in Communications Networks and Software covers the key aspects of mobile networks and the changing internet environment - in particular the convergence of computing and advances in next generation 5G mobile and wireless communications underpinned by software-based solutions. Student projects can encompass experiments based on our cutting-edge testing facilities, including our mobile network testing infrastructure installed on campus part of our 5G Innovation Centre which is expected to develop into the world s first 5G network test site. There is also scope to explore a wide variety of other topics such as future internet technologies, 5G mobile networking, network management and control, as well as emerging network services such as broadband applications and machine-oriented Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
A minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree in communication engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, electronic engineering, information and communication technologies, computer science or telecommunication engineering, or a recognised equivalent international qualification. IELTS of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each band.
