MSc Psychology (Conversion Award)

The MSc Psychology Conversion at Leeds Beckett University gives graduates without a psychology background a full, accredited grounding in psychological theory and research. It suits students who want to meet the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and pursue careers or further training in psychology. 

Curriculum Structure:
In its one-year (full-time) format, students first build foundational knowledge through Research Methods 1 and 2, alongside modules in Developmental Psychology, Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Individual Differences & Social Psychology.  These courses develop a critical understanding of how individuals think, develop, and vary, while deepening methodological competence in data analysis, experimental design, and ethical research. Students then complete a 40-credit Masters Research Project, where they design and carry out an original empirical study under supervision.
