Program Overview

The MSc Occupational Therapy at St Mary’s University is a two-year, pre-registration master’s that prepares students to become qualified occupational therapists registered with HCPC and RCOT. It blends theory, practice, and research to develop professional skills in occupation, health, and social care.


Curriculum Structure

In Year 1, students build essential knowledge through modules like Principles & Practice of Occupational Therapy, learning core OT philosophies and theories, Occupation across the Lifespan, exploring how daily activities change and matter across different life stages, and Essential Knowledge & Skills for Practice, which develops practical competencies and professional self-awareness.
