University of Warwick

Program Overview

The MSc Clinical Applications of Psychology at the University of Warwick combines academic rigour with hands-on clinical experience to prepare students for doctoral clinical psychology training. It is designed for UK-based psychology graduates aiming to strengthen their credentials by gaining expertise in research methods, clinical practice, and service evaluation.

Curriculum Structure:
During the taught part of the course, students complete Experimental Design and Data Collection, where they learn how to set up clinically relevant experiments, and Advanced Qualitative & Quantitative Analysis, which teaches data modelling and mixed-method approaches. Focus areas: “Clinical research methods; lifespan mental health; case formulation; NHS service evaluation.”
Learning outcomes: “Design and conduct clinical research, critically analyse adult and child psychopathology, and deliver applied service evaluation in a healthcare setting.”
Professional alignment (accreditation): Prepares graduates to strengthen their application for Doctoral Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) training.
