Terrorism, Security & Society MA is an interdisciplinary course that draws on history, political science, international relations, sociology, social psychology and risk studies to understand international security threats. Because of the complex nature of terrorism, it is believed valuable to study it from a variety of perspectives. On this course, students will focus on security and counterterrorism issues and on a critical social science approach, and analyse society s response and adaptation to the phenomenon.
Undergraduate degree with high 2:1 honours (i.e. overall average of at least 67% across all years of study) in history, international relations, political science, economics or other appropriate subject. Candidates who do not achieve a 2:1 but have relevant professional or voluntary experience will also be considered. Mature candidates will be considered favourably. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum high 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 67% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 67% or above in the UK marking scheme. IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill. Personal Statement and References required.
