The full-time MA Screen Acting program offers professional instruction in acting for various screen-based industries, focusing on storytelling and character development.
This course closely resembles the workings of the industry itself, placing a strong emphasis on handling real-world assignments, meeting deadlines, and performing in a professional setting. You will have the opportunity to study at our state-of-the-art Digital Technology Park, equipped with cutting-edge equipment.
Throughout the program, you will engage in traditional acting and devising classes, delving into screen-based narratives and the unique demands of different forms of screen acting. You will analyze and reflect upon your own work to aid in your personal development as you receive training.
By utilizing traditional visceral acting techniques, you will have access to facilities that facilitate the creation of specific projects within contemporary film environments. You will be encouraged to devise and produce your own work, as well as be presented with opportunities to act in film production projects within the department.
In the final six months of the program, you will undertake the creation and production of a major research project. This project will be mentored through staged draft submissions, exemplifying film performances or a single large-scale specialist production, accompanied by critical reflective analysis. Alternatively, you may choose to submit a significant and appropriate dissertation piece.
