The MA Screenwriting postgraduate degree provides an exciting opportunity to learn screenwriting in a highly productive culture of filmmaking, in tandem with students learning to produce, directing and filmmaking craft techniques. The course has been designed to offer students opportunities to initiate, develop and realise original and advanced level work in screenwriting – including story development, characters, dialogue and narratives.
To be eligible for the MA Screenwriting postgraduate course we consider prospective students with either a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree in a closely related field (either Film or television Production, Creative Writing or Creative English language related subject), or three years working in industry in a related subject area. Please note, we do not want applicants without experience of writing short scripts or feature length scripts. This is not a conversion course for those wanting to move into film - this is for screenwriters with some experience in writing for film already. IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and reading. Portfolio and Personal statement required.
