Program Overview

Arizona State University s PhD program in Animal Behavior one of the few in the world combines faculty from many disciplines and academic units to offer interdisciplinary training in both classic and cutting-edge concepts and techniques in the field. Students in the program develop research competence in animal behavior that welcomes and encourages the integration of approaches from physiology, ecology, evolution, psychology, anthropology, kinesiology, mathematics, neuroscience, and applied science (e.g. domestication, conservation). Core coursework includes a field- and lab-based research course as well as student-driven seminars that cover emerging themes in the literature. The overall aim of the program is to provide the ideal academic environment for students to carve unique intellectual and integrative research niches in their respective areas of animal behavior.
