Program Overview

An MFA with a concentration in Printmaking encourages a traditional understanding of all aspects of the medium through experimental investigations focusing on an individual approach and conceptual development within the context of culture and society through images, exhibition and theory to serve as a terminal degree in the field. Printmaking offers a direct approach to studio methods while promoting and providing an intimate printmaking community well connected nationally and international. The area provides opportunities for MFA candidates to embrace printmaking s linage and foster the development of contemporary practices to develop a graduate level thesis related to traditional and/or contemporary approaches considering the ever-growing context of printmaking and contributing to the field and the broad discipline of art.
