Program Overview

The MM in performance with a concentration in conducting is appropriate for any musician (teacher or performer) who desires to obtain a position at the college and university level as a conductor of orchestras or wind bands and for public school teachers of orchestras and wind bands who want to strengthen their skills.There are two tracks within this concentration. The wind band track is designed to meet the needs of the conductor focusing on band directing. Required courses are specific to conducting wind bands and elective courses can be taken for further band study.The orchestral track is designed to meet the needs of the conductor focusing on orchestral conducting
