The Community Leadership programs at UMBC help aspiring and practicing leaders develop the skills and experience to generate transformative social change. The interdisciplinary program emphasizes applied coursework, relationship building, and hands-on experiences for developing practical knowledge and strong leadership skills. The coursework draws from a wide range of disciplines --- including Sociology, Public Policy, Psychology, and Entrepreneurship --- to provide a thorough understanding of the social and economic contexts in which aspiring and practicing leaders will be doing their work.
GPA & Transcripts, The Graduate School recommends applicants have at least a 3.0 GPA or "B" average when applying. Standardized Tests (GRE). Language Requirement. Transfer of Credit. Some programs require additional evidence of ability to succeed in the respective graduate program. These assessment tools may include a portfolio, an interview or other assessment means.
