2 Years On Campus Masters Program
If you love music — and, specifically, if you love the idea of passing on your love of music to students - we offer the Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in music education. The traditional master's program is designed for students who already have a bachelor’s degree in music and have successfully completed all of the State of Alabama requirements for teacher certification (including student teaching) at the undergraduate level. To be considered for admission, applicants must also pass a juried audition at the graduate student level rated by UAB Music faculty and pass the music theory placement test. This program has been specifically designed for the teacher who is already teaching full or part-time and desires a graduate degree while continuing their classroom or workplace responsibilities. Students can concentrate on either instrumental or choral music education.
