Program Overview

Bilingual teachers teach all content subjects and age groups in English and/or another language. This course of study is for students who hold Initial or Professional New York State Certification in any area except English Language Arts, World Languages and TESOL. It leads to a Master s degree and a Bilingual Extension. Upon completion of the program and with three years teaching experience (including one year of mentored teaching), graduates are eligible for professional certification in their original certification area.
