Master of Science in Educational Leadership (MSED)

Throughout Iona's MSEd, you work with faculty who are experts in school leadership---current and former superintendents, principals and administrators. They share knowledge and experience and work closely with you to develop the skillful confidence to become an effective school leader.Iona's Education Department cultivates a community of lifelong learners who are eager to collaborate with one another and encourage learning in your community. You also have access to Iona's strong network of 50,000 alumni who are always willing to share expertise and opportunities with fellow Gaels.The Educational Leadership courses at Iona are conveniently designed to align with a busy schedule. Each class is taken over the course of one month with two weekend meeting times, leaving you more time during the week for work and family obligations.The Educational Leadership master's degree fosters a comprehensive understanding of educational administration and supervision. Through an investigation of the evolving knowledge in education, you engage with the most up-to-date research on best practices in K-12 education and hands-on experience through an internship.Upon completion of the Educational Leadership program, you will have met the requirements for the New York State initial certificate in school leadership and eligible to take the NYSTCE School Building Leader Exam.
