The MA in science education degree program is designed for persons with a degree in one of the sciences or science education, who are interested in teaching science in a community college. The goal of the program is to develop science instructors with advanced, graduate level academic training in one of the sciences and science education.In addition to advanced knowledge in one or more of the sciences, the program seeks to develop community college instructors who are capable of improving the quality of science teaching and learning for all students through the setting of high standards of learning and the use of research-based instructional strategies and reflective teacher research practices.
