The Gifted and Talented course sequence provides a conceptual foundation and practical approaches for teachers of the gifted and talented, both specialists and regular classroom teachers. Today 's diverse classrooms mean that educators must be able to recognize and serve talented and high achieving students in heterogeneous settings as well as in special program settings.

The Master of Education in Special Education degree program offers a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares currently certified and/or experienced teachers to be special educators and teacher leaders for school-aged students with special needs. Through a combination of rigorous coursework and supported school-based field experiences, the program will train students to use evidence-based practices, monitor response to intervention, individualize intervention based on assessed needs, understand special education law and policy, provide positive-behavior support, and collaborate with colleagues and families
