Completion of the graduate program in special education for Teacher of Students with Disabilities in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) satisfies program requirements and results in an institutional recommendation by City College (CCNY) to the New York State Department of Education for initial/professional certification. In addition, the Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) degree fulfills education requirements for the Professional Certificate (or Permanent Certificate) in either special education or elementary education, if the candidate already holds the Initial or Provisional Certificate in New York State (31-credit program).
