The College of Education offers two master’s degrees and a doctoral degree with specializations in special education. The Master of Arts (M.A.) degree requires a thesis, while the Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree requires a special project, both of which are research focused. This is information will talk about the M.A. degree. The M.A. is designed for students who will potentially enter a doctoral program or who desire to focus on educational research, as opposed to application of educational strategies. A specific set of coursework also can lead to a supporting endorsement in special education.
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Typically, students should have completed a minimum of four years of study beyond grade 12. Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a B grade or better. Provide three letters of recommendation through the online application process. Submit unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. TOEFL iBT: 80 or IELTS 7.0 overall. Copy of Passport Academic writing sample.
