Program Overview

If you have completed at least 45 credit hours of art studio and art history courses, Rhode Island College's M.A.T. program will prepare you for a teaching career in art education. Through this program, you will work closely with esteemed RIC faculty, who place emphasis on the complementary relationships between artistic expression, academic inquiry and the teaching of art. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible for full certification to teach art in all grades (pre-K-12) in Rhode Island.
