The Master of Arts in Teaching Science programs are designed as courses of study leading to New York State certification for teaching Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics in the secondary schools (grades 7-12), with an extension option for grades 5-6. Candidates admitted may also qualify for a General Science Extension for grades 7-12.
