Materials engineers apply principles of chemistry and physics to understand the properties of materials, then modify or design new materials with better properties. At ASU, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience early in your education. They offer lab courses almost every semester in their nationally recognized labs and internship opportunities are offered throughout your education. You can also work on research with faculty or pursue internships with local companies.
