Our program grants you the freedom to become a subject matter expert by allowing you to conduct your own research, design your own reading list and work with your own three-member faculty committee. The program is designed to help you develop close relationships with faculty members while remaining in control of your educational experience.
• Bowie State University Application • A U.S. bachelor’s degree in english or its international equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing • Official TranscriptsIf the student does not, have a degree in English, they must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher for admissionStudents must provide a written personal statement which details their research agenda, goals, and whom they wish to work within the department. This personal statement which covers the students agenda, goals, and whom they wish to work with is to be submitted to graduate admissions and not to exceed two pages.
