Program Overview

Completed over the course of two to four summers, the MA in Children's Literature offers a program for students wishing to prepare for doctoral study; for faculty already teaching at the college level who wish to add children's literature to their specializations; for classroom teachers wanting more specialized knowledge in their field; and for students who simply seek a deeper understanding of the ways in which children's books shape our path to adulthood and our understanding of the world.

Apply online. Official transcripts of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. A manuscript sample of your best writing - The sample submitted for an M.A. application may be either scholarly or creative. 3 Letters of recommendation. Statement of educational objectives. Copy of Passport Photo Page as well as a copy of any current U.S. visa. Confidential Declaration and Certification of Finances form. Proof of English Proficiency: minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper-based total, 213 computer-based total, or 80 Internet-based total, minimum score of 6.5 or above on the IELTS, 105 or higher on the Duolingo English Test.
