Certified athletic trainers are healthcare professionals skilled to help prevent, recognize, manage and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries and general medical conditions. The CBU athletic training program is a six-semester program that includes theory, practical application, clinical work and rigorous preparation for testing and certification.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or the evaluated equivalency, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 for unconditional acceptance. Applicants with a GPA lower than 3.0 may be considered for admission with the presentation of a minimum combined score of 300 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Official sealed transcripts from a college or university reflecting the completion of a baccalaureate degree submitted through ATCAS. Additional transcripts may be required for GPA or prerequisite verification. Two recommendations from sources who can address your potential for success. Family members and friends may not complete recommendations. Current résumé documenting all related professional and extracurricular experiences A comprehensive essay of at least 500 words CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification, demonstrated by coursework or certificate* A successful interview with the ATP Admissions Committee. Not all applicants are invited for an interview. English language proficiency: A minimum score of 80 IBT on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
